About SLICC

St Leonards Inclusive Crafty Creatives (SLICC) is an initiative which was launched by Theresa Hodge and Penny Pepper in 2021. Its mission is to make crafts and other creative activities inclusive to everyone and we aim to meet the access needs of all disabled people.

Our fun official grand launch took place at our open studio during the weekend of 10-11 September 2021, as part of the annual Coastal Currents festival.

Penny Pepper is an award-winning writer and disabled activist, who tells the untold stories. She is A veteran at Hastings Literary Fest and far beyond, her Byline Times column Who Are the Disabled? features monthly.

Theresa Hodge is a crafter and disabled activist who brings passion for inclusion into her crafting practice, using different textured material to create products which are practical and enjoyable to hold and feel.

SLICC works in partnership with Crafting Conections, based in the seaside town of St Leonards-on-Sea, in East Sussex, to provide a range of workshops and talks led by local creative practitioners. Please visit the different sections of our site to find out about our upcoming workshops and talks, as well as an overview of our previous work.

If you are a creative practitioner and would like to hire our accessible space to facilitate a workshop or talk, please get in touch.
