About SLICC

SLICC is run by Theresa Hodge and Penny Pepper from their fully accessible studio at the Clifton Centre in St Leonards-on-Sea. We want everything we do to be inclusive and we aim to meet the access needs of all disabled people.

SLICC's fun official grand launch will be at our open studio on 10 and 11 September, as part of this year's Coastal Currents festival.

Penny Pepper is an award-winning writer and disabled activist, who tells the untold stories. She is A veteran at Hastings Literary Fest and far beyond, her Byline Times column Who Are the Disabled? features monthly.

Theresa Hodge is a crafter and disabled activist who brings passion for inclusion into her crafting practice, using different textured material to create products which are practical and enjoyable to hold and feel.

During our Coastal Currents open studio, Penny will do a 15-minute reading & Q&A at 3pm on both days. She is also happy to chat about her work throughout. Her books will be available to buy.

Theresa will be Demonstrating her evolving Cricut Digital Cutting machine skills and will chat about her various crafts throughout the event. Her range of handmade work, including scarves, cushions and other gifts will be available for sale.
